Geven and PriestmanGoode unveil Materia economy seat

Geven and PriestmanGoode presented a number of seats at this year’s virtual Aircraft Interiors Expo. Following the launch of the Elemento economy seat last august; the partnership launched its new Materia seat model.

Both models are part of Geven’s line of next-generation products, which feature innovative designs that focus on passenger benefits, allow for airline customization and are easily configurable for different aircraft types.

Feedback from the AIX audience has been very positive, with enthusiastic interest in this new passenger-centric Geven line of seating products.
The design language for the next-generation family of seats is driven by key attributes: functionality, cleanliness of design contours, all embracing Italy’s unparalleled heritage of exquisite craftsmanship and timeless design.

The new line of seats features a base colour palette inspired by the Geven brand colours and the Italian coastline at sunset. Throughout the different classes, they include greys, deep blues with splashes of warmth. As you go from Economy to Business Class, more details employing some of the latest developments in aviation materials and finishes such as faux suede, metallic effect foils and translucent plastics, have been added.

The seats have been designed to be used on both narrow and wide body aircrafts giving airlines the same level of refinement and features across their entire fleet. They also provide a consistent passenger experience on short and long haul flights.

Materia

Designed for short haul Business Class or long haul Premium Economy Class, Materia brings passenger experience to the next level, redefining comfort with integrated features.

Materia provides the passenger with different levels of privacy, storage room and greater directional lighting for a number of scenarios.

Materials were selected to give an enhanced sense of quality with details such as wood inlays, leather and infused plastics. The seat features an integrated class-leading monitor for in-flight entertainment, with an additional storage shelf beneath. End bays feature detailing that wraps around the back shell to give the feeling of a fully connected seat.

“Materia is the second seat model of the next generation platform which embodies our passenger centric philosophy”

says Pasquale Rapullini RD Manager at Geven

“Our goal is to provide the passenger with an experience of comfort and wellness while seated. All seat features and options have concentrated on achieving this goal.

Composite materials to reach ergonomic profiles, pressure release wave system, innovative tablet holder and new cushion technologies are just some of the features introduced on Materia”

continues Rapullini

says Alberto Veneruso, Managing Director at Geven.

Daniel Macinnes, Design Director at PriestmanGoode says,

“Our partnership with Geven combines their technical expertise with our design knowledge and our combined insight into customer experience. We began working on this next generation of seats in September 2020. What we have achieved in that time is testament to the outstanding capabilities of both teams, and shows that great collaborations can lead to great innovation.
